Researchers from Earthwatch and Small Woods Association are looking for farms in Warwickshire willing to establish field-scale trials that will be used to study how coppice wood products may prevent soil erosion. The trials will involve Earthwatch and collaborators installing short bundles of coppiced wood in affected fields. It is hoped these will trap eroding soils and provide added benefits such as improving soil fertility and soil biodiversity. The trial will last 1-2 years, according to site availability. If you would like to discuss this initiative please get in touch with Martha Crockatt or Alan Jones or tel: 01865 318838
