Helping local rural businesses grow
Farming Productivity Grants
For farmers who are looking to invest in innovative business practices and new technologies to help them become more sustainable and productive. Grants between £2,500 – £25,000 will support three types of projects:
– a project to improve the overall performance and sustainability of an agricultural holding;
– an investment to support animal health and welfare improvements;
– or the processing, marketing and/or development of agricultural products.
Micro and Small Enterprise Grants
Grants of between £4,000 – £25,000 are available for businesses with under 50 employees including new businesses and social enterprises who aim to deliver a project that will have an impact on the local rural economy. This can include the creation of new jobs, increased turnover, creation of new products or use of new technologies.
Eligible activity includes:
– construction costs or establishment costs for workshops, factories, premises and facilities;
– purchasing equipment (not consumables);
– and setting up an I.T. business
Forestry Productivity Grants
Grants between £2,500 – £25,000 for private forestry holdings and micro, small or medium-sized forestry contracting businesses that aim to deliver permanent new supply chains and jobs that, at the same time, restore regular management to local woods and encourage a greater degree of added value to the timber output. Eligible activity includes:
– Investments in machinery and equipment to help the production, extraction, mobilising, processing and marketing of timber, non-timber forest products (including wild venison) and new forestry technologies;
– developing wood-fuel supply chains
– and transportation
